Legend has it, the spirit of a Sioux hunter that killed a white bear still lives on Manitou Island, thus the name White Bear Lake. Sailing is one of the more popular activities you’ll find on this lake, the White Bear Yacht Club was established back in 1889 and has been serving families in the area ever since.
