Sister city to Tingsryd, Sweden, Lindstrom MN was founded in the 1850's by Swedish settlers.
The quirky old water tower is shaped like a coffee pot and is painted with a welcoming message "Valkommen till Lindstrom". That phrase is written in the Swedish language because nearly half the people who live in Lindstrom are of Swedish descent.
Considered an island among the Chisago Lakes, this town is virtually surrounded by water.
Visiting Lindstrom, also known as “America’s Little Sweden”, you can’t help but be charmed by the Scandinavian gifts, delightful boutiques, artisan crafts and vintage finds that are intermixed with home-town cafes and (of course) fresh roasted coffee.
