Giclée Fine Art open edition print of an Original illustration by Mark Herman
Every summer canoeists leave Lake Itasca to begin their river adventures, with hopes of reaching the Gulf of Mexico over 2,500 miles away. Even if you aren’t traveling by canoe, more than 500,00 people visit the Mississippi Headwaters each year in Itasca State Park to see where this mighty river begins and to enjoy camping, fishing and hiking. The iconic marker, dating all the way back to the 1930's, says "Here 1475 ft above the ocean the Mighty Mississippi begins to flow on its winding way 2552 miles to the Gulf of Mexico" and is a must for a photo op when visiting Minnesota's oldest State Park!
About our prints: We only use Epson Brand Printers, Epson inks and Epson Enhanced Matte Paper to ensure our high quality standards and attention to detail is consistent with every print you purchase from us. Every print is made by our family owned small business and personally inspected.
Please note that some color tones and intensities may vary slightly from online to in person, but the heavy stock premium matte paper nicely enhances the rich colors in Mark’s artwork.
All of our prints include a white printed border, designed to look great when placed directly into a frame without the need for an additional mat.
